Experience Through Their Eyes

INCREDIBLE scotch eggs that were also deviled. Heavenly experience. Our entrees were good as well but I could've ate 20 of these eggs instead and been happy. Very friendly and helpful service. 10/10

Took a little evening drive from Johannesburg to Alpena after looking at the restaurants available in town on line. Black Sheep didn't disappoint! Steaks were prepared perfectly and the Scotch egg was delicious. So many pretzels in the appetizer basket, too! The prices were fantastic and our bartender was working hard both on the floor and behind the bar. He pours a mean 7&7! We will be back!

The price of drinks is very reasonable. Got the fish and chips which was tasty and a side of some fried mushrooms. I don't really go to pubs but this is a good place to grab some food and I would go again.

I had the Dreadnought fish sandwich and it was delicious! Fries were crispy and tasty and the coleslaw was good too. I love that they dip their own fish, no slabs out of a box!

When in Alpena, check out this fun pub. Fashioned after an English pub, it has the pub fare to match. Large battered fish portions in the fish and chips as well as home made potato chips and a great selection of brews on tap as well as local brews. Great atmosphere and friendly people.

Hands down the best french dip sandwich I've EVER had, and I don't say that lightly. The bread was so soft with a crispy outside, and the prime rib (made in house) was also soo good. Surprisingly not busy for a Saturday night but it's been cold out :-) potato skins and the fried fish also was great! But the french dip is definitely something I'd drive 3hrs for again lol. Give it a try!
